How do I describe a project?

What you do:

Simply describe the sprinkler system and available water by answering questions

and selecting options from the following screens covering:

 

Available water (gpm and psi)

Number of systems in the building

Type of system (tee or grid)

Number of branches and number of heads on each branch

System demand (gpm and psi)

Head information

Special conditions in the building

 

Note: Plan Analyst can calculate the GPM for you based on test results.

You simply select the use of each area from the following menu..

Next, you enter the basic information about the system.

Plan Analyst will check the system and display the results.

You then enter details about the system on the following screen.

Plan Analyst will calculate the size and find the location of the design area.

Plan Analyst will complete the analysis and provide a complete report on the system(s) in the building.

What Plan Analyst does:

Searches through the code, completes all necessary calculations, and creates a complete analysis 

    of  the system(s)

Creates a drawing of the system, including the location and size of the design area

Creates all necessary graphs to verify the system

The following examples are from an actual Plan Analyst report. A typical analysis report includes several

pages of information not shown here. Reports are not just basic information, they include all exceptions and special requirements that apply.

After the simple input, Plan Analyst will create a customized checklist just for this project. As you go through the checklist, you simply indicate whether each item  is ok or not on the plans. If you indicate that it is not ok, you will be asked to enter the location of the problem and Plan Analyst will describe the problem including code references. When you are finished, you will be able to print a correction report showing all of the problems on the plan complete with the precise code reference location for each problem.

Each question in the checklist will be asked using the following screen. 

If you select [ Not Correct], the following screen will be displayed.  For any correction needed,

all that you need to do is enter the sheet number and any identification needed to help the designer 

understand where the problem is located.

The following sample correction report shows the format and type of information included. You can

customize these reports to show local requirements. You can then return this correction report with

the project plans to clearly show what changes need to be made for code compliance and project

approval.  Note: Code requirements and corrections can be edited.
