The 2018 International Building Code (IBC) and 2018 International Residential Code (IRC) are currently in effect in Georgia. The codes are supplemented by Georgia amendments:
The Uniform Codes Act states that the code appendices are not enforceable unless referenced in the body of the code, adopted by the Department of Community Affairs (DCA), or specifically adopted by a municipality or county. Appendices adopted by DCA are noted in the Georgia amendments as such.
