Pennsylvania Building and Residential Codes

Pennsylvania’s statewide building code is generally known as the Uniform Construction Code (UCC).  The UCC Administration and Enforcement regulation adopted the 2018 International Building Code and the 2018 International Residential Code (code for one- and two-family dwellings no more than 3 stories in height) throughout Pennsylvania (effective date  February 14, 2022).  Over 90% of Pennsylvania’s 2,562 municipalities elected to administer and enforce the UCC locally.
